General Psychologist - Available Sessions
Annika is a psychologist who is experienced in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression or mood disorders, parenting difficulties, relationship concerns, body image and life and identity concerns and life changes. She has a Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology with Honours from the University of Queensland (UQ), she then completed a Masters of Educational and Developmental Psychology at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2015 and has been working with a range of mental health concerns ever since. Her passion is development across the lifespan, especially in relation to helping adolescents and adults work towards meaningful and productive lives. Annika also loves working with parents to support them in how their understanding and acceptance of themselves can help them to be better parents.
Annika is trained in a wide range of therapies and uses these to offer her clients an individualised treatment plan that is most appropriate to them. Often these individualised approaches with include aspects from the following therapies;
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
- Art therapy
Annika prides herself on being accepting and welcoming to all her clients, no matter their circumstances, beliefs or life experience. Annika is experienced in working with people from the LGBTIQ+ community and welcomes them warmly, safely and openly to her practice. Acceptance and collaboration related to all people is important to Annika and because of this, she is open to working with clients who are in consensual polyamorous and other kinds of relationships.
